Das sich westwärts an die Ringmauer anschmiegende, eingeschossige Gebäude hatte eine Grundfläche von knapp 5 x 5 m und verfügte nördlich der Tür über einen Eckkamin. Torwächter sicherten den Eingang der Sperrburg, indem sie Angreifern sprichwörtlich „einen Riegel vorschoben“.

South-West building

The one story building, nestled into the ring wall from a westward direction, covered about 5 x 5 m of ground and had a corner fireplace north of the door. Gatekeepers secured the entrance to the barrier fortress by blocking attackers from entering the fortress.
